The Things You Should See/Do In Kos

Today i will share the things you should see/do in Kos Island/Greece.I will also give you necessary informations.

Transportation:

There are 3 ways to go Kos island.One of them is flying to Kos island's airport which is located 22 km away from Kos town.There are many flights from European countries in the high season.Also you can fly from/to another islands or Athens.The other way to visit Kos island is taking a domestic ferry in between Greek islands.You can also visit other islands by ferry.The 3rd and most common way for Turkish tourists or tourists who want to visit Kos island in their holiday is taking a ferry from Bodrum Port/Turkey.It takes 30 minutes by fast ferry and price is around 32 € for a round-trip ticket per person.

Accommodation:

There are so many options for almost every budget in Kos.For example,pensions begin from 10-15 € per night and increasing to 25-30 € by their facilites.On the other hand,it's also easy to find a double room with sea-view in the center of the island for 90 € for 3 nights.That's what i've done.But it was in september.The prices may change by the season.You also can check Hotels which are not in the Kos Town.But you will need a car or motorbike for that.Or you can take public buses.

Food-Restaurants:

You can easily find Aegean food or sea-food with a good taste in this island.In Kos town there are many restaurants opposite the boats.Mesogios Restaurant and Dionysos Restaurant are which i've visited.Both of them were nice.Their staff was very kind.Prices were very normal.For example,you can have Steak and Greek beer for 15,5 € in Mesogios Restaurant.They also offered us a coffee after dinner.You can also taste Aegean cuisine in these restaurants.Also you can have sea-food in Mesogios Restaurant.

You can visit Everest for breakfast or brunch,they have delicious food and coffee.There are many also many restaurants in this island but i've recommended you the places i know.

Renting car/motorbike:

If you want to discover this island,that is an important suggestion from me.It doesn't matter if you are visiting island for one day or more.

We rented a motorbike because we were just 2,so decided that it would be enough for us.For 3 days included insurance we paid totally 55 €.Motorbike was very good vehicle for us.We went to Paradise beach with it and it's a bit more far than airport from Kos town.If you are more than two,you can rent a car.Rent a car companies have many alternative prices per day and car type.If you choose local ones,you can rent your vehicle cheaper.

Beaches:

The most famous beach in the island is Paradise Beach which is located in Kefalos region.You have to follow the way of airport and after airport you will turn through Kefalos direction.Before arriving Kefalos,you will see Paradise Beach sign on your left.It has a parking place for cars or motorbikes.It's a bit far from center,but you should definitely visit this beach.It's very clean,sandy and not very deep.You can also try water sports in Paradise Beach.If you get hungry,you can find a café/restaurant nearby the parking place.

The other one is Tigaki Beach which is located opposite the Turkish coast(on the right) and Pserimos Island(on the left).Water is not so deep,it's very clean.There are so many sun-beds with free wi-fi.Also there are so many restaurants and few hotels around the area.It's closer to center more than Paradise Beach.You will see farms and small shops in front of them which are selling fresh vegetables and fruits.You should definitely stop and visit them.

The third and most unique one is Therma Beach which is famous for its hot water inside a part of sea.It's not so far from center.You need to follow Kos Marina's way and you will pass it.At the end of this way Therma Beach will be waiting for you.

But be careful,because Therma Beach is the last point of this way.Also be aware of goats on the way.There is a parking place at the top.You have to walk down a bit.The way is not so good and a bit long,but you will see that it's worth to walk such a way to see Therma Beach.As i heard;in the season there are donkey's so,you don't have to walk if you can find a donkey for yourself.There is a stoned part inside the sea and it's the source of hot water.A small part of it is open to sea so water is refreshing every moment.It's like a natural spa.If you get thirsty,there is a small bar.

Shopping:

There are so many souvenir shops in Kos town.You can buy gifts such as t-shirts,small statues,stickers etc.There is also Public Market called "Dimotiki Agora" at the Eleftherias Square.You can find spices,Ouzos,soaps,Olive oil,natural sponges,souvenirs,cookies and more.You should also visit this place.

Important Locations:

You will often visit Eleftherias Square in Kos town.You will see Defterdar Mosque,Dimotiki Agora,Church of Agia Paraskevi in this Square.You should definitely visit all of them.Just check the available times to visit for Mosque and Church.Dimotiki Agora(Public Market) is usually open for hours.

On the other hand,you should see Tree of Hippocrates and Neratzia Castle.They are at the same place and so far from Eleftherias Square.

In the other parts of island you can see;Asclepeion,Ancient Agora,Roman Odeon of Kos,Antimachia Castle and more historical places.
